Progetti europei attivi
The Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria is pleased to announce the launch of MIND2ACT - Mindfulness and Prosocial Practices for Emotional, Social, and Moral Learning to Increase Inclusion and Prevent Bullying in Schools, a 24-month Erasmus+ Partnership for Cooperation in School Education (KA220-SCH), coordinated by the Theological School of the Church of Cyprus, under the leadership of Prof. Olga Solomontos-Kountouri, reflects its commitment to academic excellence and to addressing societal needs through education, research and community engagement. The project received excellent evaluation feedback, recognising the quality of both the project proposal and the partnership. MIND2ACT officially began in September 2026 and will run until August 2028, bringing together six partners from five European countries: the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria (Italy), Enoros Consulting (Cyprus), the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Central Macedonia (Greece), JUTAKI – Hungary Expert for Teachers (Hungary), and the European Parents’ Association (Belgium).
A key motivation behind MIND2ACT is the increasing incidence of school bullying, social exclusion and emotional distress among children and adolescents. Bullying remains a significant challenge for education systems across Europe and can negatively affect young people’s psychological well-being, social relationships and sense of belonging. Recognizing the crucial role schools play in supporting students’ emotional and social development, the project will promote innovative approaches to prevention and inclusion within the school environment.
MIND2ACT aims to create learning environments in which every pupil feels respected, valued and encouraged to participate actively. At the same time, it will provide teachers with practical tools to foster positive interpersonal relationships and strengthen a culture of inclusion in the classroom. The project focuses on pupils aged 11 to 13, a particularly important stage of development in which peer relationships, social interactions and emotional development play a significant role in shaping young people’s personal and psychosocial well-being. Because meaningful and lasting prevention requires the involvement of the entire school community, MIND2ACT will engage teachers, school leaders and parents, strengthening the network of support around each pupil.
Throughout the project, the partners will develop an innovative, skills-based educational model integrating mindfulness, prosocial skills, and emotional, social and moral learning into everyday educational practices. Through research, co-creation activities and close collaboration with teachers and other stakeholders, the project will develop educational materials and activities that can be integrated across different areas of the curriculum and tested through pilot activities in schools. A dedicated digital platform for teacher training will also be developed.
The Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria, coordinated by Prof. Giulio D’Urso, will contribute its expertise in a person-centred developmental approach, with particular attention to psychological well-being, autonomy, and resilience as key dimensions of adolescents’ personal and social development. It will also contribute to the identification and dissemination of evidence-informed practices for bullying prevention, with a particular focus on strengthening teachers’ competences through targeted training. In addition, it will implement a pilot intervention designed to enhance the school environment and promote adolescents’ psychological well-being through age-appropriate mindfulness-based activities. The findings will contribute to the project’s knowledge base and support the development of transferable practices and recommendations that can be adapted to different educational contexts across Europe. Through its collaborative and evidence-informed approach, MIND2ACT seeks to strengthen the capacity of schools to prevent bullying, foster inclusion and support the emotional, social and moral development of young people.
