Objectives The course also aims to provide the basic knowledge of graph theory: definitions, connectivity, planar graphs, colorings, flows. It also aims to provide the tools and techniques of graph theory to the study of concrete problems, for the construction of models and the search for solutions to decision problems.
Programme Origins: problem of Königsberg bridges. Definitions and fundamental concepts: definitions, cycle, multigraph, complete graph, bipartite graph, paths, circuits, connectivity components, cutting points, graph representation. Trees and planar graphs. Directed graphs. Matrices and graphs vector spaces. Eulerian paths and circuits. Shortest path problem. Adjacency matrix. incidence matrix. Matching. Graphs and colors. Rooted trees. Minimal spanning trees. Networks. Walks in the nets. Hamiltonian circuit. Eulerian graph. Hamiltonian graph. Flows. Ramsey theory. Euler's theorem. Algorithms: Dijkstra, Kruskal and Prim. Applications of the theory of graphs to transport, power grids, to computer networks for the distribution and storage of information.
