The
conservation of the environment, primary production, and the new
frontiers of biotechnologies are at the centre of the study
options of this Faculty, which is noted for its attention to the
globalization processes which have changed the old concept of
agriculture.
There is close collaboration
between the Aspromonte National Park, an exceptional natural
laboratory which compliments the various laboratories on the
campus at Feo di Vito. The extensive library, the up-to-date
facilities, and the excellent student/lecturer ratio, completes
the image of a Faculty which offers very good prospects for the
employment market.

This is the
Faculty with the longest history; it specializes particularly in
Urban Planning and its interests range from studies on the
local and Calabrian situation – the study and rehabilitation of
ancient towns – to the wider horizons of Mediterranean countries
– for example the conservation of oases and historic
settlements.
Faculty life is
marked by intense activity and production of publications led by
a highly qualified teaching staff. Studies on the planning phase
of construction range from a Degree course in Architectural and
Urban Planning Techniques to a second level Master course in
the Architecture and Archaeology of the towns of the Classical
period. The modern structures of the Faculty include multimedia
and language laboratories and various specialist laboratories.

This is the
most recent of the faculties and has registered an exceptionally
high number of enrolments.
In addition to
the Degree Course in Legal Studies the students are offered the
chance to complete their training by means of the School of
Specialization in the legal professions, a library, and a
website which provides various services such as online exam
enrolment and consultation of teaching schedules.

The Faculty of
Engineering is forward looking and offers a second level master
in Biomedical Engineering (in collaboration with the city
hospitals), Environmental Engineering, and a Maritime
Laboratory for the Study of wave motion with the technical
support of the University laboratories. In addition to the
traditional courses on building and infrastructure, there are
important courses on the telecommunication network and
electronic commerce in collaboration with research bodies and
major organizations such as Enel and Telecom.
