Objectives Students will acquire conceptual tools to verify and design transport infrastructures, to analyze critically the results and verify the effects of possible actions. The laboratory activities are finalized to design and verify infrastructure elements of the transport system. The course topics are the necessary conclusion of the competences acquired by a civil engineer.
Programme Students will develop a design exercise, both working in a team and alone, by using the theoretical and operational recommendations given during individual or common reviews.
Particularly, the course will deal with:
Technical regulations concerning the proposed exercise
Design proposal referring to the action context
Analysis of the design proposal to identify potential critical aspects
Development of the proposal
Technical, financial and economic analysis of the proposal

Professor NICOLA MORACI
Objectives The student, at the end of the course will have acquired necessary knowledge for the geotechnical design of a work of civil engineering and will be able to analyze the results of in situ and laboratory tests to derive the geotechnical model of the subsoil required for the design of the above works, The analysis will be carried out in order to verify both serviceability and ultimate limit states.
Topics covered are the necessary complement to the professional preparation of a design engineer.
Programme Interpretation of in situ and in laboratory geotechnical tests.
Definition of the geotechnical subsoil model.
Geotechnical design of works required for the project verifing to the ultimate and serviceability limit states.
