Objectives The course deals with the electrical and electronics subjects and with the theory of measurement.
The purpose of the course is to introduce students to the theoretical and practical basics of measurement theory and to the main measure methods and enable them to use basic instrumentation and correctly understand the specifications.
Programme Basic measurement theory. Measurements units. Measurement uncertainty. Measurement uncertainty propagation in the indirect measures. Measurement uncertainty guiding principles: UNI CEI ENV 13005.
Principal metrological characteristics of measurement instruments. Insertion issues of the instrumentation in measure circuits.
Principal measure methods of electrical quantity. Comparison methods. Bridge method. Electrical resistance measure methods. Potential drop method. Wheatstone bridge method. Volt-amperometric method. Impedance measure methods. De Sauty bridge method. Shielding in alternating current bridge. Owen bridge method.
Electronic and numerical basic instrumentation : Analog / Numeric Conversion, Analog Oscilloscope, Numeric Multimeter, Arbitrary Function Generator, Numeric Oscilloscope, digital impedance meter , Spectrum Analyzer. Basic instrumentation for the direct measurement of time and frequency: numeric counter, reciprocal counter.
