Objectives With this Module the students are allowed to experience an intense hands-on activity finalised at acquiring techniques and instruments for the design,
test and diagnostics of circuits and electronic apparatus whose theroretical aspects have already been studied in other fundamental courses of
Electronics.
Students learn first the correct use of the basic instrumentation (waveform generators, power supplies, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes), and then
they move toward the realisation of more and more complex analog and digital circuits.
It is also among the targets of the course the acquisition of abilities inthe correct use of CAD softwares for the simulation of analog and digital circuits,
and for the automatic design of printed circuit boards.
Programme Introduction to the numerical simulation and design of analog and digital circuits
Introduction to the basic laboratory instruments
SPICE simulation of amplifiers.
Simulation and design of basic DC power supply modules with stabilised output
Introduction to microcontrollers, instruction set, instruction address format
RISC architecture, examples of RISC and CISC instruction sets
Registers, oscillators
I/O ports, memories, interrupt, timer, ADC, UART, I2C, SPI, watchdog
Timers, mutivibrators
Use of TTL-CMOS LSI integrated circuits
Design and test of analog/digital signal conditioning circuits

Phase-Locked-Loop (PLL) circuits.
