Objectives Synthetic description:
The course deals with the electrical and electronics subjects and with the theory of measurement.

Acquisition of knowledge on:
The purpose of the course is to introduce students to the theoretical and practical basics of the main security measures methods and of electromagnetic compatibility measurements.
Programme Detailed course program
Measurements on steady state circuits
General principles of the measures of three-phase circuits: power measurements on multi-wire circuits – Wattmetric Measures of three-phase three-wire systems - Power phase of three-wire systems – Aron insertion with three wattmeters.
Measurements for security
Dangerousness of electric current - Category of electrical systems - State of the system and of the ground - Protection coordination - Definition and measurement of earth resistance, resistivity, step and touch voltage.
Testing of electrical systems: technical and administrative procedures, technical standards and laws; exams at sight, verification tests, tests on electrical panels.

Magnetic Measurements
Relief of the dynamic hysteresis loop - Measurement of the amount of loss - Separation of losses in a ferromagnetic specimen.
Electromagnetic compatibility measurements
Measurement environments: OATS, anechoic chamber, GTEM cell - Conducted emission measurements - Measurement of radiated emissions - Measurement of conducted susceptibility - Measurements of radiated susceptibility.
